Welcome!
Greetings to the Young Adult Community of Atlanta and to the
many visitors of this web site worldwide! Welcome to the homepage
for Archdiocese of Atlanta's Young Adult Ministry. Atlanta is known
for its vibrant young adult community. There are so many different
avenues to get involve in young adult activities - spiritual,
social and service orientated. There is something for everyone!
We hope you find our web site helpful in finding those activities
that will lead you to connect with Jesus Christ and His Church.
I believe that God has big plans for YAM. He will continue to renew
the Church through the Catholic Young Adult Community of Atlanta.
Yet, we renew the Church by renewing ourselves. Pope Benedict XVI
in his encyclical, Deus Caritas Est, God is Love, tells us, "Certainly,
one can become a source from which rivers of living water flow.
Yet to become such a source, one must constantly drink anew from
the original source, which is Jesus Christ..."
May God pour out His graces upon you!
In Christ’s Service,
Dorothy Polchinski,
Director of Young Adult Ministry

The Year of St. Paul Pilgrimage
On June 29th , 2008, Pope Benedict inaugurated the year of St. Paul. In
doing so, he encouraged the whole Catholic world to focus on St. Paul,
especially as a model of evangelization. In addition to many initiatives
taking place at the parish level in the Archdiocese, Archbishop Gregory
is promoting the year of St. Paul by establishing two pilgrimage
churches, St. Paul in Cleveland, and Sts. Peter and Paul in Decatur. By
making the Pauline year indulgence available to Catholics who make a
pilgrimage to one of those two churches, the Archbishop is encouraging
renewed devotion to St. Paul in our own Archdiocese.
In the Archdiocese of Atlanta, the Pauline pilgrimage consists of a
journey to one of the aforementioned churches, prayer before the image
of St. Paul, a reading from one of St. Paul's letters, and the prayer
mentioned on the decree. This pilgrimage is best undertaken as a group.
Young adults are encouraged to participate in this pilgrimage
opportunity. Please visit www.archatl.com/clife/paul for
more info.
